In Florida there’s nothing more beautiful than thick green turf. Unfortunately with all of the sunshine we get, we also have the highest chance of drought damage in our lawns. Watering your lawn is a KEY factor to maintaining your turf’s health and keeping your lawn green and lush all year round.
The first thing people notice about a home is the yard surrounding it & proper irrigation is paramount in keeping your landscaping beautiful!
How Much Should I Water?

A simple watering schedule would apply 1/2 to 3/4 inches of water per zone.
We recommend watering 2-3 times per week for at least 45 minutes per zone.
In Zoysia turf we recommend 4-5 times per week for at least 20 minutes per zone.
When Should I Water?
The best time for irrigation is in the early morning hours. This helps the turf to absorb as much water as possible before the sun comes up and evaporates the remaining water droplets.
Why Is Watering Important?
Turf grasses that do not receive any water can develop into dry spots. Drought-stressed turf can have a myriad of issues ranging from chinch bug infestations, large brown patches, dead turf and excessive drought-tolerant weeds.
Does Your Lawn Look Like This?
These markings in turf are a tell tale sign of drought damage. If your lawn looks like this we highly recommend watering immediately to try to save your turf from dying!
